Welcome To St John Presbyterian Church

1307 E. Elm St., New Albany, IN 47150

St John Presbyterian Church exists to bring people into the
transforming presence of Jesus Christ through worship,
teaching the Word, Christian nurture, and ministry in and
to the world.  As Christ’s ministers our members are
striving to build a community of God’s love, justice
and mercy, trusting God to lead us into faithfulness.

Spiritual exercise for the week of August 29:

Are you good at following directions?
This week when directions that come your way—on a
medicine bottle, on road signs to follow to a specific
destination, in a recipe, in instructions about how
to assemble something‹remind yourself that God has
given us directions in the Bible.
Ponder: Could you be better at following God¹s directions?
Which one(s) in particular?

***
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart . . .
[and] your neighbor as yourself.
(Matthew 22: 37-39)

***

Prayer for this week
Day by day, dear Lord,
of thee three things I pray:
to see you more clearly,
love you more dearly,
follow you more nearly,
day by day. Amen.
   —Richard of Chichester

God's promise:
You did not choose me but I chose you. And
I appointed you to go and bear fruit,
fruit that will last.  (John 15:16)

St. John is a praying church.
Through the Undershepherd prayer program every
St. John member or family is prayed for every day.

Special needs are prayed for through the Prayer Tree
and in worship on Sundays.
